We are Australia’s largest grassroots movement dedicated to exposing media lies

Who we are

MFW is an online group of women and men who’ve had it with the bias and lack of truth in much of our mainstream media, not to mention commentators who are unaware the world is changing so sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia and all forms of hate and bigotry are simply no longer tolerated.

For the past decade we have called out these injustices on social media and commencing well organised boycott campaigns to create awareness about the dangers of a mainstream media which is largely owned and set up to benefit the powerful and well-connected.

If you care about making the world a better place and ridding it of authoritarianism and attacks on democracy, get on board. It matters and our approach works.

What we do

Around the world, media uses hate speech, propaganda and lies to convince people to act and vote against their own interests, instead benefitting rich media owners, and individual commentators use this media to spout hateful and/or dangerous agendas.

These organisations and individuals are the focus of our consumer campaigns. We call it out, and if they refuse to change what they say, we make the companies who advertise with them politely aware of what they are funding and supporting. This is a highly effective strategy and calls on the advertisers to live by their own stated values, and to support the people who rely on them to stand up for what’s right.

In this way we can change the world, one twisted commentator and one megalomaniac media magnate at a time.

MFW is not affiliated with any political party or organisation, and we do not use advertising, sponsorships or partisan funding. We are fiercely independent and operate solely via the generosity and enthusiasm of those who support our aims and hope, as we do, for a better world for all.

Acknowledgement of Country

MFW acknowledges the First Peoples of this land as the oldest living culture on the planet and their enduring connections to Country, knowledge and stories. We pay our respects to Ancestors and Elders, present and emerging. As sovereignty was never ceded, Witches believe it always was and always will be, Aboriginal land.

We recognise the brutal treatment of First Nations people and that colonisation was founded on their genocide and dispossession. We acknowledge that colonial structures and policies remain in place today which perpetuate the ongoing struggles of First Nations people, and must be dismantled.
